Mumbai, April 15 (NationPress) Actor Abhishek Chauhan, who is preparing for his upcoming streaming series ‘Khauf’, has recounted his experience collaborating with actor-director Rajat Kapoor.

Abhishek is recognized for his performances in ‘Kill’, ‘Asur 2’, ‘Mast Mein Rehne Ka’, ‘Bahut Hua Samman’, ‘Undekhi’, and TVF’s ‘Cubicles’.

Reflecting on his time with Rajat Kapoor, he remarked, “Rajat sir is a master of subtlety; simply observing him act is akin to attending a workshop. Everyone in the cast... I must say we had a set where everyone delivered their best. There was a significant amount of unspoken trust on set, allowing us to immerse ourselves in some intense scenes.”

When discussing what attracted him to ‘Khauf’, Abhishek stated, “Honestly, I'm always captivated by the narrative. If a story lingers with me long after I’ve read it, I know I want to engage with it. Khauf was one of those exceptional scripts. Additionally, I believe timing is crucial. Sometimes, a project arrives just when you are prepared for it.”

Due to the show’s dark and atmospheric theme, the preparation demanded a different approach.

He elaborated, “Entering the realm of ‘Khauf’ wasn’t necessarily about conventional preparation; it was more about surrendering and allowing the environment to envelop me. The ambiance on set, particularly through Pankaj sir’s visual storytelling, did much of the heavy lifting. His frames don’t merely depict something, they pull you in. It wasn’t about crafting a performance; it was about being present and allowing it to unfold organically.”

He also expressed his admiration for director Pankaj Kumar and writer Smita Singh, stating, “I’ve respected Pankaj sir’s work for years, with films like ‘Tumbbad’ and ‘Ship of Theseus’, so collaborating with him felt surreal. He doesn’t say much, but when he does, it’s precisely what you need to hear. And Smita ma’am, her writing has immense depth and authenticity. You can sense this narrative originated from a profoundly personal place. Her tranquil energy facilitated trust in the process, which is vital for someone like me.”

The eight-part series also features Monika Panwar, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Shilpa Shukla, and promises a distinctive combination of supernatural elements and emotional richness.

‘Khauf’ guarantees a thrilling and captivating journey that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. It’s not merely about jump scares or gore — it’s a blend of supernatural elements coupled with profoundly moving storytelling. Visually, it’s breathtaking — thanks to Pankaj sir’s brilliance,” he concluded.
