Chennai, Feb 1 (NationPress) Soundarya Rajinikanth, the younger daughter of Superstar Rajinikanth, has expressed that her father's upcoming film, tentatively titled #Thalaivar173 and directed by Cibi Chakravarthy, will be a "deadly film".

During the pre-release event of director Madhan's 'With Love', Soundarya, who is producing the film, mentioned, "I had called director Venkat Prabhu to invite him for this film's event. He told me that it had been 16 years since our film 'Goa' was released. It has been 16 years since I wore the producer's hat. I manifested that I would definitely come back with a team such as the 'With Love' team and my manifestation has happened. I am so happy, proud, and honoured to come back."

The producer thanked director Cibi Chakravarthy for being part of the 'With Love' event, stating, "Thalaivar 173 periya poruppu Cibi (Thalaivar 173 is a big responsibility, Cibi). But I have a lot of faith in you. I believe that you will live up to the trust I have in you. A deadly film will come."

Meanwhile, Cibi Chakravarthy, the director of the highly anticipated film, also spoke at the event, promising Rajinikanth's fans about the movie.

He remarked, "I am meeting all of you after the announcement of #Thalaivar173 only now. So, I wish to say something here."

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support he received after the film's announcement, Cibi said, "I even got wishes from people I didn't expect to receive. I also understand the concern of a few, 'Is this person doing it?'"

He further assured, "I want to say only one thing with love. As a fan of Thalaivar, I want to tell the fans of Thalaivar and his family, when you walk out of the theatres after watching #Thalaivar173, you will be walking out with satisfaction. It's a promise. Again, I am saying, It's a promise."

Recently, when Rajinikanth was inquired about his eagerly-anticipated collaboration with Cibi Chakravarthy and produced by actor Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, he stated, "Shooting is to begin in April this year. It will be a proper commercial entertainer."

The film has generated excitement ever since Kamal Haasan announced that his production house, Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), would be behind it.

Initially, one of Tamil cinema's most renowned directors, Sundar C, was slated to direct the film, which Kamal Haasan had claimed would be a magnum opus. However, it came as a surprise when Sundar C opted out of the project.

In a heartfelt statement, Sundar C expressed, "It is with a heavy heart that I share some important news with you. Due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, I have made the difficult decision to step back from the prestigious project, #Thalaivar173."

He continued, "This venture, featuring the legendary Superstar Thiru. Rajinikanth Avl and to be produced by the illustrious Ulaghanayagan Thiru. Kamal Haasan Avl, was indeed a dream come true for me. In life, there are moments when we must follow the path laid out for us, even if it diverges from our dreams."

Reflecting on his long-standing association with both icons, Sundar C stated, "I will always hold them in the highest regard. The special moments we have shared over the past few days will be cherished forever by me. They have taught me invaluable lessons, and I will continue to seek their inspiration and wisdom as I move forward."

Though stepping away from the opportunity, he vowed to keep seeking the expert guidance of these stalwarts of Tamil cinema.

"I thank both of them from the bottom of my heart for considering me for this magnum opus," he conveyed to the superstars of Tamil cinema before addressing his fans.

"Please accept my sincere apologies if this news has disappointed those who had eagerly anticipated this venture. I am committed to making it up to you and promise to continue bringing you entertainment that keeps your spirits high. Thank you for your unwavering support and understanding. It means the world to me, and I look forward to creating more memories with you all."

Shortly after Sundar C's departure, the makers announced that Cibi Chakravarthy would be directing the film. The film, which carries the tagline 'Every family has a hero', will feature music by Anirudh.
