Chennai, Feb 1 (NationPress) Cibi Chakravarthy, the director behind the much-anticipated film tentatively named #Thalaivar173, has made a heartfelt pledge to Rajinikanth's fans and family regarding the movie.

During the pre-release event of Soundarya Rajinikanth's film 'With Love', the youthful director remarked, "I am finally addressing all of you after the announcement of #Thalaivar173. I have something to share here."

Cibi revealed that he received an overwhelming amount of good wishes following the film's announcement, saying, "Even from those I did not expect. I understand some concerns, 'Is he capable of this?'"

He continued, "I wish to express one thing with affection. As a Thalaivar fan, I assure Rajinikanth's fans and his family that when you exit the theatres after watching #Thalaivar173, you'll leave with complete satisfaction. This is my promise. I reiterate, it's a promise."

Recently, when asked about his eagerly awaited collaboration with Cibi Chakravarthy, which is being produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, Rajinikanth mentioned, "Filming is set to commence in April this year. It will be a true commercial entertainer."

The film has generated significant excitement following Kamal Haasan's announcement that his production company would be involved.

It should be noted that originally, one of Tamil cinema's renowned directors, Sundar C, was slated to direct this project, which Kamal Haasan described as a grand endeavor. However, unexpectedly, Sundar C withdrew from the project.

In a statement titled "A Heartfelt Note to My Dearest Fans and Well-Wishers", Sundar C expressed, "It is with great regret that I share this news. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have made the tough choice to step back from the prestigious #Thalaivar173 project."

He further stated, "This project, featuring the legendary Superstar Thiru. Rajinikanth Avl and produced by the illustrious Ulaghanayagan Thiru. Kamal Haasan Avl, was a dream for me. Life sometimes takes us down paths we never expected, even if they stray from our dreams."

Reflecting on his long-standing relationship with both icons, he said, "I will always cherish my time with them. The moments shared recently will stay with me forever. They have imparted invaluable lessons, and I will continue to draw inspiration from them as I forge ahead."

Sundar C, who is also married to actress and politician Khushbu, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating that he would still seek guidance from both legends of Tamil cinema.

He addressed his fans, saying, "I sincerely apologize if this news has disappointed those eagerly looking forward to this venture. I am committed to making it up to you with entertainment that uplifts your spirits. Thank you for your steadfast support and understanding; it means everything to me, and I look forward to creating more memories with all of you."

Following Sundar C's departure, it was announced in the new year that Cibi Chakravarthy would take the helm of the film. The movie, which carries the tagline 'Every family has a hero', will feature a score by Anirudh.
