Mumbai, June 12 (NationPress) Telugu actor Rana Daggubati is preparing for the launch of the much-anticipated second season of his acclaimed streaming series ‘Rana Naidu’. He revealed that his role is steeped in trauma.
In a recent interview with IANS, Rana elaborated on the complexities of his character. He was questioned about the enjoyable aspects of portraying the lead role in the series.
Rana stated, “‘Rana Naidu’ and fun don’t quite align. This character is profoundly layered. There’s an immense amount of trauma that remains unexpressed, which is often a classic theme among Indian men who carry the weight of familial responsibilities that are rarely discussed. The Naidu family embodies this dynamic.”
He continued, “There are tensions between fathers and sons, husbands and wives, and among siblings. Each character grapples with some form of trauma from their past, seeking to confront and overcome it. This, to me, was the most distinctive aspect of being involved in this series.”
While season one focused on a single dysfunctional family, the new season escalates the drama by introducing two families at odds.
Rana added, “The Oberois have entered the fray. If you thought the Naidus were troubled, the Oberois are even worse. Wealthy individuals face even larger dilemmas.”
“The issues faced by the affluent are magnified in peculiar ways, often involving legacy and the character of Naga, who disrupts this family dynamic,” he remarked.
The second season of ‘Rana Naidu’ will be available for streaming on Netflix starting June 13.
