Mumbai, June 11 (NationPress) Actor Arjun Rampal, who is set to feature in the second season of the acclaimed streaming series 'Rana Naidu', has described his role in the show as the most ruthless character he has portrayed to date.
Rauf, played by Arjun, emerges as the latest and most perilous addition to a cast that includes Rana Daggubati in the lead role.
Discussing his character, Arjun stated, "He is the most ruthless and chillingly authentic character I’ve ever taken on."
Rauf is depicted as a person devoid of empathy, propelled by chaos and capable of brutal violence. However, within this turmoil, there exists a profoundly human aspect.
"There’s a hint of vulnerability—especially in his affection for his niece. She is the sole person he protects unconditionally," Rampal revealed.
"The challenge of embodying Rauf lay in his ability to exhibit tenderness, even as he is enveloped in darkness," the actor added.
The series is crafted by Karan Anshuman and directed by Anshuman, Suparn Verma, and Abhay Chopra, with production by Locomotive Global Media.
Previously, Karan Anshuman recounted an amusing incident from filming when Rana Daggubati improvised his dialogue, leading to an unexpected twist.
In a tense confrontation, Rana, playing the titular role, faced off against his uncle, Venkatesh Daggubati, who portrays his estranged father in the series.
During their intense exchange, both actors switched to speaking in Telugu, prompting Karan, from his director's chair, to think, "magic is about to happen" due to their familiarity with the language. However, he was taken aback when the word "biryani" emerged amidst their dialogue.
The show is slated to premiere on Netflix on June 13.
