Mumbai, Nov 25 (NationPress) The beloved Bollywood duo Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were seen paying their respects to the grieving family of the late actor Dharmendra.

On Tuesday, they arrived at the legendary actor's residence located in the Juhu area of Mumbai. Disembarking from their vehicle, they were swiftly escorted by security personnel amidst a significant security presence.

Alia had the honor of sharing the screen with Dharmendra in the film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, directed by her mentor, Karan Johar.

Also seen at the residence was music composer Anu Malik, who visited to pay his respects.

The iconic Dharmendra had previously been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai but was discharged after showing signs of recovery. He was recuperating at his Juhu home when he unfortunately passed away on Monday after battling breathing difficulties, which led to his temporary use of a ventilator.

Known as one of Bollywood's most cherished stars, Dharmendra was born in 1935 in Punjab. He embarked on his cinematic journey in the early 1960s after being discovered through a talent competition. In the late 1950s, a nationwide talent search organized by Filmfare magazine and Bimal Roy Productions sought fresh faces for Hindi cinema.

He participated in this competition and won in 1958, recognized for his captivating looks and innate appeal. This victory paved the way for his entry into the film industry. Notably, this same talent search would later uncover Rajesh Khanna, another titan of Hindi cinema.

With his charismatic looks, emotional depth, and effortless charm, Dharmendra quickly ascended to fame. His ability to transition between genres allowed him to shine in romance, action, and comedy. Iconic films such as ‘Phool Aur Patthar’ solidified his status as a leading man, while his role as the witty and lovable Veeru in ‘Sholay’ became legendary.

He was honored with the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award.
