Mumbai, July 26 (NationPress) Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda recently discussed the significance of an actor's personal style in forming their public image in the current visually-driven society. He noted that the late superstar Raaj Kumar adeptly conveyed his unique real-life style through his compelling on-screen characterizations.
When asked whether he believes an actor's personal style influences their public persona, Randeep responded to IANS: “Sadly, it does. I wish it weren’t the case because I would prefer to be recognized for my performances and the characters I bring to life. The less people know about my personal life, the more authentic my characters become.”
He elaborated on how actors are often defined by their public image today.
“In this era of 'if it’s visible, it sells', enhanced by social media’s constant presence, it’s inevitable that one gets categorized by their image.”
He continued: “No one has been able to truly define me—or parody me—since my roles vary significantly. I believe that you, as an individual, can embody that diversity too.”
The actor then reflected on the legendary Raaj Kumar, who starred in classics like “Mother India”, “Waqt”, “Dil Ek Mandir”, “Saudagar”, “Paigham”, and “Tirangaa”.
“Many actors have achieved remarkable success by possessing a distinct personal style that resonates on screen. The first person who comes to mind is Mr. Rajkumar, whose pronounced real-life style seamlessly translated into his cinematic presence,” Randeep stated, who recently walked the ramp for 'Blenders Pride Four Elements'.
Does Randeep follow trends, or does he lean towards classic styles?
“Trends are ever-changing—fads come and go—I’ve never been particularly drawn to them. Often, I’m not even aware of them,” he shared.
Randeep concluded: “I prefer to stick to classic styles. It’s essential to wear what you genuinely like rather than trying to emulate someone else. Classic styles are timeless—you can't go wrong with them.”
