Mumbai, March 28 (NationPress) Actor Randeep Hooda disclosed how Sunny Deol significantly influenced his foundational fitness journey.
Reflecting on his school experiences, he mentioned that he and his peers drew inspiration from Sunny's legendary posters, motivating them to work out and build physical strength. The 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' actor recalled decorating hostel cupboards with Sunny's posters, igniting his enthusiasm for weightlifting and push-ups—a habit that has persisted throughout his life.
Randeep, currently collaborating with Deol in the anticipated thriller “Jaat,” stated, “I've always admired Sunny Deol. As children, we looked up to his commanding on-screen presence, his intensity, and his impressive physique. I vividly remember having his posters in our school hostel cupboards, which inspired us to engage in weightlifting and push-ups.”
“When I received the role, what excited me most was the opportunity to portray an ultra-macho action star alongside a legend like Sunny sir, matching his energy and intensity on screen—it’s a dream for any actor. He is a powerhouse, and sharing this space with him is both a challenge and an honor,” Randeep added.
Previously, Sunny Deol shared that the journey of “Jaat” commenced during the making of “Gadar 2.” The ‘Ghayal’ actor expressed, “We were all thrilled to begin a remarkable film, and after meeting several directors, Gopi agreed to helm the project. We convened in Goa, where he presented another story. He narrated to me the tale of 'Sorry Bol' (laughs). With 'sorry, sorry, sorry,' he immersed me into the entire film and narrative, leading to the development of 'Jaat.'”
“Jaat,” directed by Gopichand Malineni, features Sunny in the lead role, while Hooda takes on the role of a formidable antagonist. This action thriller marks the first on-screen partnership between Deol and Hooda and includes a robust ensemble cast featuring Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, and Regina Cassandra in key roles.
“Jaat” is scheduled to release in theatres on April 10.
