Mumbai, Oct 3 (NationPress) Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji paused her shooting for 'Mardaani 3' to attend the launch ceremony of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 on Friday. She emphasized the significance of cyber awareness.
The actress, known for her role as a fearless cop in the Mardaani franchise (the only successful female-led franchise in India), has been a strong advocate for the Indian police force and their efforts to safeguard society. She joined notable figures including Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Director General of Police (Maharashtra State) Rashmi Shukla, Iqbal Singh Chahal (IPS), Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Maharashtra, and Akshay Kumar at the event.
At the event, Rani Mukerji expressed, "I am genuinely humbled and honored to participate in the launch of Cyber Awareness Month. Over the years, through my films, I have had the privilege to portray women who combat injustice and defend the vulnerable. In fact, I rushed here directly from the shooting of ‘Mardaani 3’, so this moment feels incredibly surreal. This initiative by the Maharashtra Police is commendable."
Rani highlighted the need to combat cyber crimes against women and children during the event and praised the efforts of the Maharashtra Police’s cyber cell.
She further stated, "Currently, cyber crimes, particularly against women and children, are silently escalating within our homes. As a woman and a mother, I recognize the vital importance of awareness. When families are informed about safety measures and know where to seek assistance, genuine protection can begin. I would like to extend my gratitude to the honorable Chief Minister (Devendra Fadnavis), honorable ACS (Iqbal Singh Chahal), and respected DGP (Rashmi Shukla) for their guidance and leadership in prioritizing this crucial mission of cyber safety," she added.
Addressing the importance of the government helpline numbers that enhance safety in the state, Rani remarked, "The dial 1930 and dial 1945 helplines are invaluable to all citizens. As an actress, I bring stories to life on screen. However, as a woman, a mother, and a citizen, I believe it is our collective duty to ensure that no child suffers in silence, no woman feels unsafe, and no family loses their peace of mind due to cyber crime."
"Let us vow today to remain vigilant, speak out, and unite for a safer digital world," she concluded.
Fans can look forward to seeing the actress in ‘Mardaani 3’. Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the film is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026.
