Ravi Udyawar Highlights the Decline of Children's Films in Hindi Cinema
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 1 (NationPress) Director Ravi Udyawar, who recently released the film ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’, has addressed the noticeable decline in the production of children's films in Hindi cinema.
In an interview with IANS during the promotional activities for ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’, he expressed a strong desire for Hindi cinema to create a meaningful children's film that not only cherishes the innocence of childhood but also narrates an authentic story.
Udyawar remarked, “It’s like touching a sore spot. We have truly stopped creating films for kids. This is one of the reasons I kept urging my actors during this film to evoke that innocence in romance. I long for that simplicity in romance; it’s become so rare today. Everything is excessively extravagant now. I believe we’ve lost that essence. We need to make more children's films, as they represent such a large demographic.”
He continued, “When children are deprived of films that resonate with them, they begin to seek entertainment elsewhere. They turn to K-dramas and other forms because they crave simple narratives. They desire to witness two individuals falling in love, facing insecurities—just straightforward storytelling. They are asking, ‘Can we just enjoy the moment of love unfolding?’ We aim to embrace that simplicity in this film.”
‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ features actors Siddhant Chaturvedi, Mrunal Thakur, Sandeepa Dhar, and Ayesha Raza.
The film has been produced by Zee Studios, Bhansali Productions, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal, and Bharat Kumar Ranga in collaboration with Ravi Udyawar Films.
