It was in July of last year that the Bollywood duo, Richa and Ali, joyfully announced the birth of their first child, a daughter. They confirmed in a joint statement that they welcomed a “healthy baby girl” on July 16.
“We are tickled pink with joy to announce the arrival of a healthy baby girl on 16.07.24! Our families are overjoyed, and we thank our well-wishers for their love and blessings! Love, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal,” the couple expressed in their announcement.
Earlier in February 2024, Richa and Ali took to social media to reveal their pregnancy news.
Their Instagram post read, “1+1=3,” accompanied by the caption, “A tiny heartbeat is the loudest sound in our world.”
The couple first crossed paths on the sets of 'Fukrey' back in 2013 and tied the knot in 2020 during the pandemic.
Richa was last seen in “Fukrey 3”, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba.
This film marks the third installment in the Fukrey franchise, following Fukrey Returns, released in 2017. It features a talented ensemble cast, including Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadha, and Pankaj Tripathi.
Additionally, she made her production debut with “Girls Will Be Girls,” a coming-of-age drama written and directed by Shuchi Talati. The film stars Preeti Panigrahi, Kani Kusruti, and Kesav Binoy Kiron.
Set against the backdrop of a boarding school nestled in the Himalayan foothills, the narrative centers on teenager Mira's romance with a charming new student, her sexual awakening, and her sometimes strained relationship with her protective mother.
The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where it was featured in the competition section.
