Chennai, March 10 (NationPress) Refuting the circulating claims that Suriya's highly anticipated film 'Karuppu' is set to premiere on April 10, director R J Balaji has released a video announcing that an official update regarding the release will be shared within the next week to ten days.

In his Instagram video, RJ Balaji expressed, "I understand many of Suriya sir's fans are feeling let down due to the prolonged wait. I've been waiting for almost two years as well. However, your patience will be rewarded. We have no plans to delay further. Expect an update on the release date within a week to ten days."

He went on to categorically deny the April 10 release speculation, stating, "It will definitely not be on April 10. I assure you that!" while driving his car.

With a lighthearted tone, the director dismissed other circulating rumors about conflicts among the team members, including the producer and music director. He added, "I know the wait is frustrating, but believe me, you will love the film when it is finally out. I will return with an update soon."

Previously, at a college event, he mentioned, "Karuppu is ready for its release. However, we wish to avoid creating excessive hype to prevent any disappointment if expectations are not met. The film is well-made, and I believe you will enjoy it. We plan to release it after the elections this summer, making it perfect for family viewing. Students can enjoy it with their parents."

Excitement has been building since the teaser was unveiled on Suriya's birthday last year, featuring a worship scene of the deity Karuppu with chili powder, accompanied by a voice stating, "This is not a tranquil deity to be worshiped gracefully; if you pray sincerely and offer chilies, it’s a fierce deity that will deliver instant justice."

The teaser introduces Suriya as a lawyer named Saravanan, who also goes by the name Karuppu. It promises a commercial entertainer loaded with action, highlighted by Suriya's punchy dialogues, including, "Blast! My brother, this is our time; I’m going to give you all a whacking."

Featuring Trisha as the lead actress, the film also stars notable actors including Indrans, Sshivada, Swasika, Yogi Babu, and cinematographer-actor Natty in key roles.

The soundtrack is composed by emerging music talent Sai Abhyankkar, while cinematography is handled by GK Vishnu, known for his impressive work in blockbusters like Vijay's 'Bigil', 'Jawan', and 'Mersal'.

The film's editing is managed by R Kalaivanan, with stunts choreographed by Vikram Mor and art direction by Arun Venjaramoodu.
