Chennai, Feb 16 (NationPress) Actor and filmmaker RJ Balaji has revealed that the much-anticipated action film, ‘Karuppu’, starring Suriya in the lead role, is set to debut after the State Assembly elections this summer.

During a recent college event, the director mentioned, “Karuppu is primed for release. Yet, we aim to manage expectations so that audiences do not arrive with unrealistic hopes leading to potential disappointment. The film is well-crafted, and I believe you will enjoy it. Our goal is to launch it post-elections this summer, making it a family-friendly viewing experience, suitable for students to watch with their parents.”

The film has generated significant buzz ever since the teaser was unveiled on Suriya’s birthday last year. The teaser opens with the deity of Karuppu being honored with chilli powder while a voice declares, “It’s not a serene deity you worship with grace. If you pray genuinely and offer chillies, it’s a fierce deity that delivers swift justice.”

The teaser indicates that the film promises to be a full-fledged commercial entertainer packed with thrilling action sequences. Suriya is seen delivering several memorable lines, including, “Blast! My brother, this is our moment; I’m going to give you all a whacking.”

Co-starring with Suriya is actress Trisha, alongside notable Malayalam actors Indrans, Sshivada, Swasika, and Tamil actors Yogi Babu and cinematographer Natty in significant roles.

The soundtrack is composed by the emerging talent Sai Abhyankkar, with cinematography by GK Vishnu, known for his impressive work in Vijay’s ‘Bigil’, ‘Jawan’, and ‘Mersal’.

Editing will be handled by R Kalaivanan, with stunts choreographed by Vikram Mor and Arun Venjaramoodu as the art director.
