Did Mark Ruffalo Just Call Trump the Worst Human Being?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, Jan 13 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo recently graced the Golden Globes as a nominee for his performance in HBO’s ‘Task’, but he felt far from celebratory.
The actor condemned US President Donald Trump, expressing his disbelief at how “not normal” it is to attend a glamorous awards ceremony shortly after the tragic death of Renee Good.
Ruffalo was among various celebrities donning a “Be Good” pin to pay tribute to Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis last week, as reported by ‘Variety’.
“This is for Renee Nicole Good, who was murdered,” Ruffalo stated regarding the pin, before criticizing political figures such as J.D. Vance for justifying the shooting as an act of self-defense. He emphasized, “We have a vice president who is misrepresenting the facts. We’re embroiled in a war with Venezuela that we unlawfully instigated. Trump claims that international law holds no significance for him. His sole focus is his own morality.”
Referring to Trump’s assertion to The New York Times that “my own morality” and “my own mind” are his only constraints regarding global authority, Ruffalo remarked to ‘USA Today’, “This individual is a convicted felon. He’s the worst human being. If we depend on his sense of morality for the most powerful country on the planet, we are in deep trouble. This is for Renee. This is for the people in the United States who live in fear and anxiety today. I know I am one of them. I love this country, but what’s unfolding here is not America.
When questioned about the importance of delivering a political message at the Globes, Ruffalo replied, “Look, I wish I could just enjoy this moment, and I am here to celebrate and proud of my Golden Globe nomination. However, this isn’t normal anymore, and I can’t remain silent. I’m feeling a bit unwell, so it’s challenging to pretend right now.”
