Chennai, Jan 6 (NationPress) The creators of the much-anticipated action thriller 'Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups', directed by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash in the leading role, have unveiled the captivating first look of Rukmini Vasanth as Mellisa in the movie.

This film represents a remarkable collaboration between Rukmini and Yash, all under the unique cinematic vision of Geetu Mohandas. Recognized for her astute performances and emotional nuance, Rukmini’s entry promises a portrayal that complements Geetu’s intricate, atmospheric narrative, while aligning with Yash’s aspiration to create an Indian film that rivals global standards in scale and storytelling.

Following the earlier releases showcasing striking first looks of Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, Nayanthara as Ganga, and Tara Sutaria as Rebecca, 'Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups' enriches its immersive universe with Rukmini Vasanth’s introduction as Mellisa.

Set against the backdrop of a lively, hazy party in the late 1960s, Mellisa exudes a sense of total confidence. Her expression is razor-sharp and determined, cutting through the surrounding celebratory chaos. While everything around her is fluid, she maintains focus, moving through the crowd with a commanding presence.

Director Geetu Mohandas states, “What I admire most about Rukmini is her intelligence as an actor. She doesn’t just act; she contemplates. She asks questions, not from doubt but from a place of curiosity. This challenges me to delve deeper into my choices as a director. Observing her performance reminds me that the essence of intelligence on screen often lies in the subtleties of what remains unspoken.”

Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu, 'Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups' is being filmed concurrently in Kannada and English, with plans for dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and more—highlighting its global aspirations.

The film features a remarkable technical team, including National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer TP Abid.

Exciting action sequences are choreographed by Hollywood action director JJ Perry (known for John Wick), along with the National Award-winning duo Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.
