Actress Sai Pallavi has extended a heartfelt congratulation to director Rajkumar Periasamy after he won the National Award for Best Direction for the blockbuster Tamil film Amaran, saying she considers his recognition her own triumph. The actress, who played the female lead in the film, responded to Periasamy's public note of gratitude on 21 July, with an emotional message that underscored the depth of their collaboration.

Earlier, Rajkumar Periasamy had shared his gratitude publicly, describing the win as the fulfilment of a lifelong dream. 'I've always dreamt of receiving the National Award ever since I dreamt of becoming a film director. And it's come true now! God has been truly kind,' he wrote.

He added that while making Amaran, his singular focus was on making audiences empathise with the characters and the lives of Indian Army soldiers and their families. 'The film has given back to me and our team multifold. For this highest recognition of the National Award for Best Direction, I thank the esteemed Jury of the 72nd National Awards,' he said.

Periasamy dedicated the Golden Lotus award to the family of late Major Mukund Varadarajan, who laid down his life in the service of the nation, and to all Indian Army soldiers. He also acknowledged his producers, including Kamal Haasan, and the full cast and crew of the film.
