Mumbai, March 27 (NationPress) Bollywood icon Salman Khan, currently preparing for his upcoming film ‘Sikandar’, has expressed his concerns regarding the anxiety induced by the extensive security he must maintain.
The actor is under scrutiny from imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who seeks retribution for the supposed hunting of a blackbuck by the star in the 1990s.
In a media interaction at a luxurious hotel in the Bandra locality of Mumbai, Salman acknowledged that, at times, being accompanied by security personnel can be challenging.
Despite the threats, he asserted that he is not fearful and has entrusted his safety to God.
He stated, “Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai (It’s all in God’s hands, what is meant to be will be). Occasionally, having to navigate with so many people can be troublesome.”
Bishnoi, who drew national attention following the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022, has explicitly threatened Salman due to his purported involvement in the blackbuck hunting case during the filming of ‘Hum Saath - Saath Hain’.
In a troubling incident last year, two individuals on a motorcycle fired several shots outside Salman’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Bandra, Mumbai. Investigations later suggested that this shooting was intended to intimidate the actor and was orchestrated by Lawrence Bishnoi, whose community regards blackbucks as sacred. This alleged involvement has incited the gangster’s desire for revenge.
In October of the previous year, Baba Siddique, a close friend of Salman and an NCP politician, was tragically shot dead by three assailants near his home in Mumbai. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for this heinous act. Following this incident, Salman’s security was significantly enhanced, and bullet-proof glass has been installed on his balcony.
