Mumbai, April 14 (NationPress) Bollywood icon Salman Khan has received a new death threat through a message sent to the official WhatsApp account of the Worli Transport Department, according to an official statement on Monday. This threat comes precisely one year after two unidentified individuals on a motorbike discharged four gunshots at his residence in Bandra.
The Worli police have opened a case regarding this recent threat against the actor and have intensified the security measures around his home in the multi-storey Galaxy Apartments, the official noted.
The threat message indicated that there would be an attempt to assassinate the star either by storming his residence in Galaxy Apartments or by targeting his vehicle with explosives.
This incident marks the latest in a series of threats and assaults directed at the Bollywood figure, particularly following his conviction in the 1998 Blackbuck shooting case.
Exactly a year ago, on April 14, two individuals on a motorcycle fired four rounds at his residence. Subsequently, Salman limited his interactions with fans from his apartment balcony and eventually installed bulletproof glass to protect against potential future attacks.
In 2004, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for firing shots at Salman’s home. A message on Facebook allegedly posted by Bishnoi took credit for the assault.
Bishnoi has a long-standing dispute with the actor stemming from the Blackbuck shooting case, as the Bishnoi community regards Blackbucks as sacred.
The incarcerated gangster also alleged that his gang members were behind the murder of Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique last year, attributing the crime to the slain leader's connection to Salman.
These threats have compelled Salman to limit his public appearances; however, during the recent Eid celebration last month, he greeted fans from his balcony secured with bulletproof glass to deflect any sniper threats.
The superstar shared a video on his Instagram, showcasing him waving to fans from his residence's balcony.
