Mumbai, July 17 (NationPress) Bollywood icon Salman Khan, who recently appeared in ‘Sikandar’, has recounted an interesting anecdote about riding a motorcycle to his farm, believing his father was upset with him.
During an event for the Indian Supercross Racing League on Wednesday, Salman shared how he once rode his bike from his home in the Bandra neighborhood of Mumbai to the family farm where his father, the esteemed screenwriter Salim Khan, was working.
Salman recalled, “I believed my father was angry with me one day, and he went to the farm. This was quite some time ago, and I was suffering from a high fever. I thought, ‘I need to go to the farm and apologize to him.’ So, I took off on my bike. However, I wasn’t wearing a helmet, and my cap was on backward. As I rode, my cap flew off, and I realized, ‘This is not how you should ride.’ I slowed down to about 35 or 40 kilometers per hour and eventually reached the farm. After making a left turn, the bike skidded and veered into the bushes. I struggled to lift the bike. Thankfully, my car arrived, and we managed to get the bike back on the road, but it skidded again when I took a right turn.”
The actor explained that there was a lot of gravel, resulting in injuries from the fall, saying, “I went to see my father, and he asked, ‘What are you doing here?’ I replied, ‘I thought you were upset with me.’ He reassured me, saying, ‘No, no, I was coming to the farm.’ I then said, ‘Okay, you arrived here. What happened?’ He inquired further, and I simply said, ‘Nothing.’”
He continued, “There was a lot of gravel, and I got hurt. He asked, ‘How many times did you fall?’ I answered, ‘Twice.’ He then questioned, ‘Don’t you know how to ride a bike?’ I asked him why he rode a bike, and he said, ‘Give me my bike back.’ So, we took out his Tiger 100, and he rode it. I grabbed another bike, and we enjoyed a long ride at night on the farm. It was truly a memorable experience, and thankfully, I didn’t break any bones.”
Salman also mentioned his passion for riding bikes, saying, “I can’t do it as often now, but I still ride at the farm. The team has helped me create a track. I don’t jump anymore, as I have shoots to consider. If I were to fall, I could be out for 3-4 months. With all the safety gear, I reside in Bandra, and there's a highway leading to the film studio. Numerous individuals ride bikes there for a small fee, and I have even transported a few kids to the hospital. Racing on the road is not just dangerous for you but for others too.”
