Mumbai, Sep 13 (NationPress) Renowned Bollywood star Salman Khan met with the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, at Raj Niwas in Leh on Saturday while he was in the region filming his eagerly awaited drama, "Battle of Galwan".
Images shared on X (formerly Twitter) depicted the 'Sultan' actor in a blue shirt paired with denim, showcasing their cheerful interaction during the visit.
During the meeting, Salman received a stunning Thangka Canvas painting from the Ladakh LG, illustrating a scene from Buddha's life in traditional Buddhist artistic style.
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh posted about Salman's visit on their X handle, stating, “Bollywood icon Salman Khan paid a courtesy visit to the Hon'ble Lt. Governor Shri @KavinderGupta at Raj Niwas, #Leh.”
On Tuesday, Salman also shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the "Battle of Galwan" set on social media, showcasing him peeking through a clapperboard.
He was seen wearing military fatigues, featuring a jacket adorned with insignia and layers of the traditional Personal Camouflage Disruptive Pattern Material (PC DPM). This attire reflects his character's role since the Galwan stand-off in 2020-2021. The traditional PC DPM uniform was replaced by the New Battle Dress Uniform (NBDU) introduced during the 74th Army Day Parade in New Delhi on January 15, 2022.
For context, the Battle of Galwan refers to a significant confrontation between Indian and Chinese forces in 2020 in the Galwan Valley, a contested border area in Ladakh. With firearms prohibited in this region, the soldiers engaged in hand-to-hand combat using sticks and stones. This clash resulted in the first fatalities in the Sino-Indian border conflict in nearly 45 years.
Himesh Reshamiya has been brought on board as the music composer for this drama, with the release date yet to be disclosed.
