In her acting career, Samantha has brought to life strong and intricate female characters in acclaimed works like “The Family Man” Season 2, “Rangasthalam,” “Majili,” “Yashoda,” “Mahanati,” and “Eega,” among others.
When asked if she consciously aims to carve out more space for nuanced female stories in Indian cinema as a producer, Samantha remarked to IANS: “My identity as a woman will naturally influence all of my creative choices, and I take pride in that.”
“Our industry desperately needs more female viewpoints. It remains predominantly male-driven. I don’t view this as a negative, though,” she added, revealing that her debut production, “Subham,” is poised to captivate audiences on May 9.
She emphasized the necessity for more female filmmakers and storytellers to emerge.
“It’s crucial to remember that women represent half the population. We need more female producers, directors, and storytellers to bring their unique voices and experiences to the forefront,” she noted.
Samantha expressed her desire to create stories that resonate with contemporary women.
“I genuinely aim to support projects that reflect the modern woman’s experiences, and I’m thrilled to contribute to shaping these narratives with authenticity and depth,” she stated.
As for “Subham,” produced under her banner Tralala Moving Pictures, it promises to be a genre-defying family entertainer filled with humor, horror, suspense, and heart, directed by Praveen Kandregula and featuring Shriya Kontham and Charan Peri.
Most recently, Samantha appeared in the 2023 film “Kushi,” alongside Vijay Deverakonda.
