Mumbai, April 15 (NationPress) Actress Samridhii Shukla, who portrays Abhira in the acclaimed series 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', believes that personal development is a continual journey. Reflecting on her experience in the television realm, she expressed, “I like to think that I have grown. However, I’m unsure if I’m the right person to make that judgment. I can notice numerous transformations in myself, yet I acknowledge there's still a considerable path ahead.”
Samridhii is committed to enhancing her skills. “Even in my role as Abhira, I consistently seek ways to reinvigorate my portrayal. I constantly challenge myself—how can I experience this emotion in a new light?” she remarked.
On the subject of the evolution of television content, she underscored that transformation is unavoidable. Samridhii stated, “Art reflects reality. If television aims to remain relevant, it must mirror societal changes. In 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', the women of various eras illustrate these transformations. Akshara (from the first generation) was a homemaker, as was typical for many women back then. Nowadays, viewers desire to see women who are career-driven, manage multiple responsibilities, have aspirations, and assert themselves.”
Discussing the audience’s profound connection with TV characters, the actress added, “Daily dramas become integrated into people’s lives. Audiences form a connection with us, which is why their excitement is palpable when they encounter us. Even though we don’t interact daily, their affection reaches us through messages, presents, and engagements.”
Commending Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut Productions, she praised its efficiency and creative prowess. “It’s a well-structured team that respects time, budget, and artist relations. Rajan sir’s enthusiasm is evident in the work, which ultimately influences performances and storytelling,” Samridhii noted.
Describing the work environment on the set of 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', she shared, “We all resonate on a similar frequency, which aids in crafting genuine scenes. Positive energy off-screen translates into chemistry on-screen.”
A self-identified coffee enthusiast, she also shared her typical day on set, stating, “My day begins with positive vibes, coffee, rehearsals, and a lot of fun sprinkled in. Laughter keeps our spirits high.”
For Samridhii, her job serves as an escape. “I feel most at ease on set. All my concerns stay at home, and here, I know what to anticipate—it’s my safe haven,” she concluded.
