Mumbai, June 16 (NationPress) Writer Sandeep Jain has released two gripping thrillers in quick succession - the Pankaj Tripathi-led "Criminal Justice" season 4 and "Kankhajura".
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Sandeep discussed the challenges of creatively managing two intense narratives simultaneously, explaining that while the scripts were not penned concurrently, they creatively overlapped with another Netflix project, "Operation Safed Sagar".
This upcoming war drama centers around a critical Indian Air Force operation during the 1999 Kargil War and is currently in production.
Sandeep expressed, "As a writer, you must learn to compartmentalize — transitioning seamlessly from one narrative universe to another without carrying over any emotional or tonal residue."
He shared an effective writing strategy that he employs, stating, "I set short, targeted writing goals for each project. Upon reaching a particular creative milestone, I switch to the next one. This allows my subconscious to continue processing the first project while I focus on completing the second."
He also mentioned a straightforward technique: "Simply revisit the last page you wrote; it helps your mind re-enter that world. The toughest part is preserving the unique tone and texture of each project when working across various genres. Each show I’ve tackled has been distinct — whether it’s slice-of-life, whodunnit, thriller, war epic, musical gangster drama, or zany comedy."
He concluded, "I deliberately avoid confining myself to a single genre, as predictability diminishes the joy of storytelling. I embrace the surprises that come with creating a unique world."
Sandeep's portfolio also includes acclaimed works like "Tabbar", "Kota Factory", and "Kanneda".
