Srinagar, June 16 (NationPress) In its relentless campaign against terrorism, the Special Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir has taken significant action by attaching the property of a terrorist linked to Pakistan in Kupwara district this Monday, according to officials.
A statement from the SIA disclosed that the property in question is owned by Abdul Hamid Lone, the son of Abdul Aziz Lone, who resides in Mawar Bala Qalamabad, Handwara, located in Kupwara.
The attached immovable assets include land identified as Khasra No. 110-min (02 Kanal 03 Marlas) and Khasra No. 115-min (01 Kanal 16 Marlas). This action was executed following the due legal process with the appropriate authorization from the esteemed NIA Court in Kulgam.
Abdul Hamid Lone is identified as an absconding terrorist, currently wanted under FIR number 02/2023 at the Police Station CIK/SIA Kashmir. He faces multiple charges under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
This individual has been evading arrest to sidestep legal repercussions stemming from his active involvement in terrorist activities. The property attachment was carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, ensuring adherence to all statutory regulations.
The SIA emphasized that this operation marks a significant development in their ongoing investigation into unlawful and anti-national activities within the region. This action underscores the agency’s firm commitment to combating terrorist threats, ensuring national security, and promoting peace and the rule of law in Jammu and Kashmir. The SIA, in partnership with various security and intelligence agencies, remains resolute in taking decisive action against those who jeopardize the sovereignty, integrity, and unity of the nation.
Furthermore, the SIA has been actively investigating notable terrorism-related crimes, including the murder of advocate Babar Qadri, who was tragically killed in his home in Srinagar by terrorists on September 24, 2020. The agency subsequently arrested and charged the former President of the High Court Bar Association in connection to Qadri's murder.
