Mumbai, Jan 26 (NationPress) Sanya Malhotra is set to light up the screen in the eagerly awaited family film "Mrs.". The producers have revealed that this project will debut on the OTT platform ZEE5 on February 7 this year.
"Mrs." is a faithful adaptation of the acclaimed 2021 Malayalam film "The Great Indian Kitchen" directed by Jeo Baby. In this film, Sanya Malhotra takes on the role of Richa, a newlywed who strives to pursue her passion for dancing while balancing traditional household responsibilities. The movie highlights the daily challenges women encounter, especially the burden of societal norms and gender disparity.
Reflecting on her role in "Mrs.", Sanya Malhotra stated, "My character’s journey is one of quiet resilience, as she goes from doing the dishes to dreaming big again. It’s been a rewarding challenge to play someone who dares to break free from the routine and find her voice."
For her outstanding performance in this film, Sanya Malhotra was honored with the Best Actress award at the 2024 New York Indian Film Festival.
Directed by Aarti Kadav, the film stars Sanya Malhotra, Kanwaljit Singh, and Nishant Dahiya in key roles, along with a talented supporting cast. The production is a collaboration between Baweja Studios and Jio Studios, featuring Sagar Desai and Faizan Hussain as music composers. Additionally, Pratham Mehta and Prerna Saigal handle cinematography and editing respectively.
