Mumbai, Jan 26 (NationPress) Sanya Malhotra is set to appear in the eagerly anticipated family film 'Mrs'. The producers have revealed that this project will debut on the OTT platform ZEE5 on February 7 this year.

'Mrs.' is an official adaptation of the acclaimed 2021 Malayalam film 'The Great Indian Kitchen', directed by Jeo Baby. In this movie, Sanya Malhotra takes on the role of Richa, a newlywed who strives to pursue her passion for dancing while managing the burdens of traditional domestic responsibilities. The film highlights the daily challenges faced by women, particularly regarding societal pressures and gender disparities.

Reflecting on her role in 'Mrs.', Sanya Malhotra stated, "My character’s journey is one of quiet resilience, as she transitions from mundane chores to daring to dream again. Portraying someone who seeks to escape the ordinary and discover her voice has been a fulfilling challenge."

For her remarkable performance in the film, Sanya Malhotra was honored with the Best Actress award at the 2024 New York Indian Film Festival.

Directed by Aarti Kadav, the film showcases Sanya Malhotra, Kanwaljit Singh, and Nishant Dahiya in key roles, along with other talented actors. The project is co-produced by Baweja Studios and Jio Studios, featuring music composed by Sagar Desai and Faizan Hussain. The cinematography and editing are handled by Pratham Mehta and Prerna Saigal, respectively.

Looking ahead, Sanya Malhotra will also star in the upcoming drama 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' by Dharma Productions, directed by Shashank Khaitan. This film will feature Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, alongside Rohit Saraf, Nitish Nirmal, Manoj Joshi, Akshay Oberoi, Nishigandha Wad, and Maniesh Paul in supporting roles.
