Mumbai, July 24 (NationPress) Actor Saurabh Sachdeva, well-known for his roles in ‘Animal’, ‘Pushpa 2’, ‘Sacred Games’, and ‘Maalik’, disclosed that the film's director, Pulkit, was once his student.
Saurabh, who also serves as an acting coach, mentioned that Pulkit began his career as an actor before transitioning to direction.
Reflecting on Pulkit's journey, he shared, “Pulkit was my student many years ago. He started as an actor, and I recall living in Malad when he visited my home while I was coaching other actors. He expressed uncertainty about his future. I suggested, ‘Take my camera, head to the park downstairs, and ask people why they visit the park. Go record their responses.’”
“He took the camera and began filming. That marked the inception of his aspiration to become a director. He eventually created his first short film, casting me in it. It was a wonderful piece. He later produced another film, ‘Maroon’, featuring me again. Now, this will be his first theatrical release. He told me, ‘This film is for you.’ I replied, ‘Alright, make it happen.’ So, we commenced our collaboration,” he elaborated.
Saurabh also shared insights about working alongside Rajkumar Rao, describing him as a “very open actor.” He emphasized the mutual respect they maintained, allowing them to comfortably occupy each other's space as performers.
He remarked, “We respected each other's boundaries as actors. I could easily step into his space, and he could enter mine without hesitation, showing a mutual appreciation for one another's craft. Interestingly, his wife Patralekhaa was also my student long ago when I was with Mr. Barry.”
Looking ahead, Saurabh will soon appear in ‘Dhadak 2’.
