Mumbai, Sep 15 (NationPress) Renowned Bollywood icon Shabana Azmi expressed her admiration for actress-director Tannishtha Chatterjee, who is set to showcase her directorial project Full Plate at the esteemed Busan International Film Festival. Remarkably, she completed this film amidst her cancer treatment.
On Instagram, Shabana posted two snapshots with her friends, including Tannishtha, Divya Dutta, and Urmila Matondkar.
In her heartfelt caption, Shabana remarked: “To Tiger Tan as she heads to Busan International Film Festival with her directorial venture, which she finished during her cancer treatment. You rock of Gibraltar.”
Full Plate features Kirti Kulhari in the lead and is slated for its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in 2025. The film also casts notable actors like Sharib Hashmi, Monica Dogra, and Indraneil Sengupta.
On August 26, Tannishtha shared on Instagram about the world premiere of Full Plate at the Busan International Film Festival, posting a promotional image of Kirti dressed in a burqa.
She expressed her gratitude in the post, saying: “I am deeply touched by all the love and support I've received lately. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by negativity, but your kindness reminds me that humanity prevails. I hope this doesn’t sound like an acceptance speech. Midway through a challenging personal journey, I completed my film, Full Plate, which I wrote and directed.”
Tannishtha revealed her diagnosis came during the post-production phase earlier this year.
“Despite the challenges, I am thrilled to announce that Full Plate will premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in 2025. This film embodies unwavering dedication from the entire team, who supported me through my health crisis and the arduous conditions we faced during production,” she added.
Tannishtha further acknowledged: “Indie films are always tough to execute, and this one truly tested our resolve. Huge thanks to Kirti, Sharib, Monica, Indraneil, and my entire cast and crew… this film is for everyone. Special thanks to my producers Ashutosh, Anup, Mohan, and Ketki for their support.
