Mumbai, March 31 (NationPress) The acclaimed National Award-winning actress Shabana Azmi recently shared her thoughts on the concept of ageing gracefully, emphasizing that acceptance is a fundamental part of the process. When asked about her philosophy regarding ageing, Shabana revealed to IANS: “Acceptance is key; you must acknowledge that it is unavoidable, just as you do at every stage of life. The more you embrace it, the better prepared you will be.”
She further explained, “If you resist it, saying, 'no, that's not necessary,' you will find yourself unprepared.” This insight came during her attendance at the launch of Antara AGEasy, a comprehensive platform catering to seniors.
The septuagenarian actress also shared a glimpse into her daily routine when not engaged in filming or traveling. With humor, she disclosed that she tends to engage in numerous activities, which her household staff amusingly refers to as “interference.”
Shabana elaborated: “I frequently move around my home, organize my cupboards, and my staff often labels my activities as interference, as I either do nothing or concoct strange myths. Additionally, I love surrounding myself with friends; that’s what fills most of my time.”
With a remarkable film career that spans over 160 movies, primarily in independent and neorealist cinema, Shabana Azmi has also ventured into mainstream films and international projects.
Renowned for her portrayal of unique, often non-conventional female roles across various genres, she holds the distinction of winning five National Film Awards for Best Actress. Furthermore, she has been honored with the Padma Shri in 1998 and the Padma Bhushan in 2012.
Most recently, she appeared in the film “Ghoomer,” a sports drama directed by R. Balki, which features co-stars Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher, and Angad Bedi.
