Mumbai, July 26 (NationPress) After a significant hiatus from the public eye, former actress Shabana Raza Bajpayee has embarked on a new chapter in her film career.
This time, instead of performing in front of the camera, she has chosen to take on the role of a producer.
In 2024, Shabana established her own production company, Aurega Studios, alongside her actor husband Manoj Bajpayee and producer Vikram Khakhar, with the clear goal of sharing stories that resonate emotionally with audiences. The studio's inaugural project was "Bhaiyya Ji", featuring Manoj, which also marked his 100th film release.
As she celebrated her birthday on Saturday, Shabana shared her motivations for returning to the industry as a producer. She mentioned being a devoted mother all these years, and now that her daughter, Ava, is in boarding school, she has the mental clarity to pursue other interests.
Reflecting on her decision, Shabana stated, “I was a hands-on mom until a year ago. Our daughter Ava is now in boarding school, so I have the time and mind space to consider other things.”
“There was a time when Manoj wanted to explore a certain genre of films, and I suggested why not produce those ourselves, so we could follow our passion,” added the ‘Fiza’ actress.
Shabana made her acting debut alongside Bobby Deol in 1998 with "Kareeb". Her charm and relatable persona quickly won the hearts of viewers.
Following this, she featured in films such as "Fiza", with Hrithik Roshan and Karisma Kapoor, and "Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet" alongside Ajay Devgn.
She is recognized for selecting roles that are rich in emotion throughout her career.
However, after marrying Manoj in 2006, Shabana opted to prioritize her family life and raise their daughter away from the media spotlight.
She completely withdrew from the public sphere.
