Mumbai, Dec 6 (NationPress) Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol were recently in London to unveil a bronze statue of their characters Raj and Simran at Leicester Square, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the beloved film 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'.

During a media session in London, SRK revisited some cherished memories of bowling late at night during the filming of 'DDLJ'.

He noted that making a film abroad was a significantly different experience back then.

King Khan expressed, "It was incredibly thrilling at that time to travel abroad for shoots; it still is, but those were the formative days of international filming. For me, 'Dilwale' was the longest-running film filmed overseas in Switzerland and London, making it such a unique experience. Since then, we've shot many films in the UK, but this was truly pioneering."

Reflecting on their bowling outings post-shoot, Shah Rukh mentioned, "We were quite distant from Central London; night bowling was a novel experience for us. I think smaller areas had been designated for bowling and shopping on the outskirts. It was an exhilarating time to explore London."

Shah Rukh further disclosed that while making 'DDLJ', they had no inkling of the film's monumental impact.

"I feel incredibly lucky to have been part of such cinema and I am very thankful. Honestly, none of us really anticipated that 'DDLJ' would hold such a special place in people's hearts. I’m sure Adi (Aditya Chopra) and everyone thought it would be a good film that audiences would enjoy, but no one could have imagined its legacy and significance," SRK shared.
