Chennai, March 15 (NationPress) The talented actress Shamna Kasim, affectionately known as Poorna among her Tamil film industry fans, has joyfully revealed that she and her husband, Shanid Asif Ali, are celebrating the arrival of their baby girl.

In a heartfelt Instagram announcement, Poorna expressed her delight, stating, "Today, Allah has graced my life with another lovely gift. At 4:25 AM, just around Fajr, we welcomed our baby girl into the world. Following her birth, the Adhan and Iqamah were recited in her ears. We have chosen the name 'Dua Jameela' for our sweet daughter."

She further shared her hopes, saying, "May Allah bless her with a long life, robust health, and unwavering faith, and guide her to grow into a virtuous and honorable individual. May she be a wonderful blessing for our entire family. #babygirl #newbornphotography #alhamdulillah."

Dua Jameela is the couple's second child; they already have a son, Hamdan Asif Ali.

Last August, Poorna had announced they were expecting their second child.

During that announcement on Instagram, she shared, "Our hearts are overflowing, and our family is expanding.... Marrying and living with the one you love is a dream realized — but becoming parents is the most beautiful chapter of all.

"Today, I’m filled with gratitude and joy to announce that we are expecting our second baby. It’s said that children complete a family — and with our second miracle on the way, our hearts feel even fuller."

She also took a moment to thank everyone who supported them, saying, "To all who have stood by us with love, prayers, and encouragement — thank you. Your presence during our journey means more than words can express. We eagerly anticipate the future — filled with laughter, tiny footsteps, and boundless love."

It’s worth noting that Poorna tied the knot with businessman Shanid Asif Ali in Dubai back in October 2022.

In sharing wedding pictures on Instagram, she had remarked, "I may not be the most beautiful woman in the world, nor do I claim to have all the qualities of an ideal partner, but you have always made me feel valued.

"You have loved me for who I am and never tried to change me. It has inspired me to work on myself to be the best I can be.

"Today, surrounded by our loved ones, we embark on this wonderful journey together.

"I understand this might be a bit overwhelming, but I promise to stand by you through every challenge and support you always with love."

Shamna Kasim is known for her extensive work in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu cinema, and she is most recognized for her roles in films like 'Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moondramandu', 'Drohi', 'Jannal Oram', 'Savarakathi', and 'Dasara'.
