Mumbai, March 20 (NationPress) In a recent video, actor Shardul Pandit discussed the contentious incident involving influencer Orry, who has been implicated in an FIR alongside seven others for purportedly drinking alcohol near the Vaishno Devi temple.

Shardul articulated his views on the situation, voicing his concerns regarding the actions and their repercussions. On Wednesday, he shared a video on his Instagram account stating, “What do you think, sorry or chalta hai, it’s ORRY. This video relates to ORRY and his associates being charged in a case. An FIR has been initiated against them for consuming non-vegetarian food and alcohol in Vaishno Devi (which is prohibited there). The hotel staff had alerted them about this.”

In the video, Pandit remarked, “I’m asking this very respectfully, but the question might be tough. If you admire Orry, you may want to skip this video. In Vaishno Devi, seven individuals, including Orry, were booked, and an FIR was lodged for consuming alcohol, which violates the regulations there. The hotel staff had informed them and their friends regarding the rules. When the FIR was filed, Orry fled the scene. It’s possible he might never come on my podcast after this video. I’m not against you; I’m against this behavior.”

He further stated, “Some people argue that media trials are entirely unjust, and I concur. Others might claim that this individual is a celebrity, which is why people are paying attention to them, and thus the government is overreacting. But does being a celebrity genuinely grant you a ‘hall pass’ where everything is permissible? What did your mother always say? Whether you practice a religion or not, if someone else does, you should honor their beliefs.”

“My inquiry is, people often assert that in India, individuals overreact. But if these same actions occurred in another country at a sacred site, would they be treated in the same manner? What are your thoughts? I truly wish to know,” Shardul expressed.

For those unaware, Orhan Awatramani, commonly known as Orry, along with seven others, has been charged by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly consuming alcohol near the Vaishno Devi shrine. It has been reported that an FIR has been filed by the state police against the group for drinking in a restricted area in Katra.

Among the accused is a Russian national, Anastasila Arzamaskina, who was accompanying Orry and his friends during their trip to Katra. They are accused of breaching the District Magistrate’s orders and allegedly offending religious sentiments.
