Mumbai, March 19 (NationPress) The talented actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has addressed actor Shardul Pandit's recent comments questioning her remarks about the limited influence of artists regarding their projects in the entertainment sector. This comes after her controversial song faced significant backlash.

Nora responded to Shardul’s online video, clarifying that while artists do possess some degree of influence, their ability to effect change is often restricted, necessitating that they operate within the existing industry framework.

In her comments, she acknowledged Shardul's perspective, stating, “Hello! I appreciate your viewpoint! Yes, we have some power, but it's limited. You chose not to promote the song, and I opted not to endorse it on my platform! That's where our power ends.”

She elaborated, “However, as an artist, I don't wield significant authority over filmmakers in the industry. Suggesting otherwise is almost setting me up for failure. Ultimately, I need to work and survive in this industry, so there’s only so much resistance I can offer (sic).”

“I value your opinion, but we must remain realistic. If genuine change is desired, address the singer, lyricist, and producers of the song,” she concluded.

Earlier, Shardul released a video addressing the ongoing controversy regarding Nora's newest song, Sarke Chunar. He commended her for being accountable and vocal about the backlash surrounding the song, yet he expressed disagreement with her assertion that actors lack control over their projects.

His video caption stated, “@norafatehi I wish this reaches you. I respect women and do not support CANCEL CULTURE. We are not opposed to you; our stance is against this song due to its promotion of misogyny and vulgarity.”

“I hope you find the strength to navigate this situation. I must respectfully disagree; artists have considerable influence, and I am pleased you are finally exercising it. We would gladly hold the creators accountable, but the public perception is centered on Mr. Dutt and yourself. Please understand, we are not against you; we are against the song.”

In his video, Shardul also emphasized that he is skeptical of the claim that actors lack a voice in project decisions, reiterating that artists indeed play a significant role in shaping the content.

This controversy arose after Nora expressed her disappointment on social media regarding the backlash her song received, apologizing to her fans. She revealed that she had previously alerted the creators about the potential negative response to the song's lyrics, which could jeopardize her career.

Nora noted that her concerns were disregarded, and she felt compelled to continue with the project, highlighting the reality that she must work to sustain her position in Bollywood.

The song, featuring Nora alongside Sanjay Dutt, has reportedly faced bans and removal from various music platforms due to criticism over its perceived vulgar lyrics.
