Mumbai, March 18 (NationPress) Actress Nora Fatehi has found herself in the midst of a controversy regarding her song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from the movie ‘KD: The Devil’. In light of the situation, she has expressed her commitment to being more discerning and vigilant in selecting and executing her projects in the future.

On Wednesday, Nora addressed her followers on Instagram, sharing a video where she spoke candidly about her current emotional state, as she is mourning the loss of a close friend, and noted that she was unaware of the ongoing controversy.

She stated, “I just wanted to address this controversy surrounding the song. First and foremost, I am dealing with the grief of losing one of my closest friends and I’ve been out of reach due to poor network coverage. I’ve received some updates today, so I feel it’s important to clarify a few things.”

Nora elaborated, “I filmed this song three years ago in Kannada, a language from the Sandalwood film industry. I agreed to be part of this project because it was associated with a major film and a renowned icon, Sanjay Dutt. Who would decline such an opportunity? At the time of filming, I depended on the filmmakers for the translation of the song, and they assured me that it was neither inappropriate nor vulgar, but I don’t understand Kannada and had to trust their word.”

The actress pointed out that the creators later produced a Hindi version of the song, which she acknowledged contained lyrics that were indeed inappropriate.

She continued, “I had no idea about these changes. They did not seek my approval, and when I attended the launch event, I was taken aback by the Kannada version. I had significant concerns because they did not obtain my approval for the lyrical version, which included unflattering images. Anyone who knows me is aware that I always need to approve my photographs before they are published. They released the lyrical version without my consent.”

Additionally, she revealed that the filmmakers generated an AI image of herself with Sanjay Dutt, an action she opposes. She felt “really irritated” when she saw the song at the event.

Nora stated, “I must maintain a respectful demeanor in front of the media, filmmakers, and those who offer me opportunities. However, I was internally conflicted by what I witnessed. When they played the Hindi version, I anticipated backlash because I can understand Hindi. I warned the director that it would not be well-received, and I distanced myself from the project. As you can see, I have not promoted it at all. I reiterated to the director that my image and reputation were at stake. Artists like me often lack the backing of powerful connections; we are simply individuals supported by our audience.”

“Going forward, I will be more cautious and stringent in my decisions. I also want to express my gratitude for the backlash, as it has led to the removal of the song. Thank you,” she concluded.
