Mumbai, June 28 (NationPress) Shefali Jariwala has been laid to rest at Mumbai's Oshiwara Crematorium. Her father, brother, and husband conducted her last rites in accordance with Hindu traditions.
For those unfamiliar, this is the same location where Sidharth Shukla was cremated in 2021. Shefali and Sidharth were seen together during the thirteenth season of the reality show, "Bigg Boss".
A video circulating on social media shows her husband Parag Tyagi and Hindustani Bhau carrying Shefali’s body to her bier. Shefali and Hindustani Bhau formed a close friendship during their time in the Bigg Boss house, where she even tied rakhi to him.
Earlier, Hindustani Bhau, upon visiting R.N. Cooper Municipal General Hospital after Shefali's passing, expressed to the media, “She was like my family. More than a sister, she was my child.”
Numerous members from the entertainment fraternity attended the funeral to pay their respects.
Shefali passed away on the night of June 27 after experiencing a cardiac arrest.
When her husband brought her to the hospital, she was declared dead upon arrival by the medical staff.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Minister of State for Home Affairs, Yogesh Kadam, has promised a thorough investigation into the sudden demise of the 42-year-old actress.
Speaking to IANS, he noted, “The police are gathering information, and the investigation is ongoing. If any foul play is suspected or if a complaint is filed, we will examine that angle and conduct a comprehensive inquiry. We cannot speculate at this stage, but action will be taken if any doubt arises.”
The police have recorded statements from eight individuals in connection with the incident, including family members, staff, and the attending physician at Bellevue Hospital.
While initial reports indicate that Shefali may have suffered a heart attack, the official cause of death has yet to be disclosed by the doctors who performed the autopsy.
