Mumbai, July 20 (NationPress) Director Shekhar Kapur expressed his gratitude to Sudhir Mishra for stepping in as the executive producer for his highly awaited project, Masoom-the next generation.
In a recent social media announcement, the creator of 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' shared his excitement about joining the team of 'Masoom-the next generation' in the role of executive producer.
Sudhir took to his X handle, stating, "It’s remarkable how Shekhar crafts characters and spins these captivating narratives out of thin air. It’s been a while since I encountered such a touching story… It leaves a joyful ache in your heart, the only way I can articulate its impact. Brilliant. I’m honored to be the executive producer on this project! So here it is, Masoom 2 - a film directed by @shekharkapur and E.Produced by @IAmSudhirMishra #Masoom2#"
Resharing Sudhir's gracious words on Instagram, Shekhar welcomed him aboard, saying, "Thank you Sudhir Mishra... for your generous words and for agreeing to be EP on #Masoom-thenextgeneration #Film #Movies #Masoom #storytelling."
Shekhar had confirmed 'Masoom-the next generation' back in November of last year. He disclosed that he has completed the script for the sequel.
Ensuring that the film will boast a fresh narrative while staying true to the core values of the original drama, Shekhar revealed that the sequel will feature Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah from the original film, along with Manoj Bajpayee, Nithya Menen, and his daughter Kaveri Kapur as the main cast.
Discussing how he managed to involve his daughter in his upcoming directorial project, Shekhar wrote on his IG, “She’s an incredible singer-songwriter; it took me quite some time to convince her to collaborate with me as an actress. She finally agreed to… so she will be playing a significant role in my next film, Masoom-the next generation... They say children choose the parents they wish to be born to. If that’s the case, I’m the luckiest, most fortunate dad in history.”
The director of 'Mr India' also shared that he had lost the script for 'Masoom 2' while traveling but was fortunate enough to recover it by a stroke of fate.
