Mumbai, April 29 (NationPress) Actor Suniel Shetty has built a reputation for portraying numerous antagonistic roles, including the character Raghavan from Main Hoon Na.
However, Shetty believes that Raghavan should not be viewed as a villain since he fought for his country and the memory of his lost child.
During the trailer launch of his upcoming film Kesari Veer, Shetty expressed that Raghavan cannot be classified as a negative character. "For me, my country holds paramount importance, and that sentiment is genuine. Whether in sports or any other arena, when it involves my nation, I transform into a different individual. Though the script labeled Raghavan as negative, I agreed to the film within just two minutes of hearing the storyline," he shared.
He recounted the words of director Farah Khan when she presented Main Hoon Na to him, saying, "I vividly recall Farah mentioning that many are apprehensive about taking on this negative role. I responded by asking how this could be seen as negative—our adversary remains constant, my child has been taken from me, and I merely seek to recover his remains. So, how is this character negative?"
Shetty also reminisced about his character Dev from Dhadkan, who faced similar scrutiny.
"Dev in Dhadkan was also perceived as negative, but when a man loves his girlfriend to such an extent, how can he be branded as negative?"
Looking ahead to Kesari Veer, Shetty described his role as Vegda Ji, a profoundly significant character who cherishes his daughter above all. "Once you watch the film, you'll understand that it's a truly unique love story," Shetty concluded.
