Mumbai, Oct 20 (NationPress) Actress Shweta Tripathi Sharma, currently immersed in the filming of the cinematic version of the Mirzapur series, revealed that she will celebrate the Diwali festivities with her "professional family" this year, which includes her on-set co-stars as well as her theatre and Mumbai friends.
Recently, the actress shared her experiences of shooting in Varanasi for "Mirzapur: The Movie," after which she plans to head to Goa with her husband, rapper Slow Cheeta.
Regarding her Diwali arrangements, Shweta expressed to IANS: “I am genuinely excited to be celebrating Diwali with my professional family… our Mirzapur family, followed by our theatre family, and then our friends from Mumbai. We typically gather a group of around 20 friends.”
“Every year during Diwali, New Year, Holi, and other celebrations like Christmas, we always come together. So, these friends are more like family to me, and that’s how I will be spending Diwali.”
When discussing her co-actor Ali Fazal, she noted that he is a "5th-generation chef."
“He prepared the most amazing food. I can't describe how delicious it was, truly. I was beaming with joy. In fact, I woke up today reminiscing about that happiness,” she remarked. “I indulged myself quite a bit.”
“While I tend to drink less tea in Bombay, I find myself doing so here. Maintaining fitness is crucial—it's about seizing every opportunity to stay active, no matter the circumstances.”
In a light-hearted discussion about her post-Diwali routines, Shweta mentioned: “Rohit, who trains Ali Fazal, is here, so I’m taking training sessions with him. The aftermath of the training is tough, but it's all worth it. After Diwali, I plan to give myself two days to recuperate before returning to my fitness regime.”
“The goal is to make fitness a lifestyle choice, not merely for appearance's sake, but for overall physical and mental well-being, which makes you feel good inside.”
“So, I will resume after a couple of days off. I attribute my motivation to my career, as being in front of the camera requires me to be a responsible artist.”
The actress also shared her fondness for home-cooked meals.
“I prefer home-cooked food over catering. Whether it’s Diwali or any other festival, I relish eating at home, with my in-laws, including my mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, who just welcomed a baby girl. We’ll perform the puja at home before celebrating, enjoying the homemade delicacies and sweets.”
