Bhubaneswar, Oct 20 (NationPress) Union Minister Jual Oram on Monday conveyed his strong belief that the NDA is set to achieve a significant victory in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

In an exclusive interview with IANS, the Tribal Affairs Minister stated: "As a seasoned politician, based on extensive ground reports and observations, I firmly believe that the NDA will secure victory by substantial margins and once again establish the government in Bihar. The momentum is clearly in our favor, with the people of Bihar rallying behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and the NDA. This contest distinctly differs from the era when leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav were at the forefront."

He highlighted that the NDA is strategically positioned to form the next government, showcasing robust public support and organizational capabilities.

The initial phase of voting in Bihar is scheduled for November 6, followed by the second phase on November 11, with results expected to be announced on November 14.

As the political landscape in Bihar heats up, campaign activities are gaining traction, and various parties are rolling out their candidate lists.

The union minister also extended warm wishes to everyone for Diwali, encouraging a commitment to the spirit of Swadeshi (self-reliance) and the support of local products.

“I first offer my prayers to the Almighty for the well-being of everyone this Diwali. I call upon citizens across the nation to celebrate with reverence and embrace Swadeshi in their daily lives — from purchases to our choices. Strengthening our nation through local products is essential. Let this Diwali be a celebration of light, purity, and the Swadeshi ethos,” Oram remarked.

Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Diwali festivities aboard INS Vikrant, Oram appreciated the Prime Minister’s symbolic gesture and message.

“The Prime Minister celebrated Diwali with our courageous soldiers on INS Vikrant, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to eradicating left-wing extremism and promoting self-reliance in defense. Initiatives like Sindhurakshak have significantly bolstered India’s strength and confidence. Under his leadership, the defense sector is evolving towards self-sufficiency, and our armed forces are gaining enhanced morale and capabilities through indigenous weapon systems,” Oram asserted.

He further stated: “As a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence, I can assure you that Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a self-reliant and robust India is both timely and crucial for our nation.”
