Chennai, Oct 17 (NationPress) Actor Silambarasan, who takes the lead in director Vetrimaaran's much-anticipated action thriller 'Arasan', delighted fans by sharing the film's promo link on his social media platforms on Friday. This came after the promo's theatrical release a day earlier.

In a post on his X timeline, Silambarasan, affectionately known as Simbu by his supporters, stated, "Here’s the promo of #Arasan just for you all :) #ARASANPromo #VetriMaaran @anirudhofficial @theVcreations #VCreations47."

The film's promo opens humorously with a cameo from director Nelson, where Simbu assures that the information he is about to share is genuine. He mentions that the killers, victims, names, and locations are all authentic but cautions Nelson to include a disclaimer in his film. "I mention this because many of the cases I will discuss are still pending trial," he explains, warning that if his statements are revealed, not just innocent individuals like him but many lawyers, politicians, police officers, and judges could face repercussions.

As Simbu speaks, the makers of 'Arasan' issue a disclaimer. "If you include a disclaimer, even if the events depicted are factual, no one can challenge you," he reassures a visibly anxious Nelson. He adds that his case is next on the docket and he will return to elaborate.

In the courtroom, coached by his attorney, Simbu faces the judge, who informs him he has been charged with three murders in a single night, asking for his plea. Simbu asserts his innocence, yet subsequent scenes suggest he was the perpetrator in the murders.

The promo indicates this will unveil an untold narrative from the realm of 'Vada Chennai'.

The buzz surrounding the promo has excited not only fans but also the cast and crew. Just earlier in the week, Simbu encouraged his followers to watch the theatrical version of the promo, declaring it would be "worth it."

Reports from IANS confirmed that the film is indeed progressing, countering speculation regarding its cancellation due to financial issues.

Despite earlier doubts stemming from alleged financial obstacles and external pressures to abandon the project, sources indicated that filming would proceed, with Simbu opting for a profit-sharing arrangement rather than upfront payment.

In addition to Vetrimaran and Simbu, Andrea Jeremiah, Samuthirakani, and Kishore will also play significant roles in the film.

Recently, Vetrimaran addressed rumors about a sequel to his highly awaited film 'Vada Chennai', clarifying that while his next project will star Simbu, it will not be Vada Chennai 2, as speculated in various media outlets. He emphasized that the storyline will be set within the universe of 'Vada Chennai'.
