Actor Silambarasan TR, popularly known as Simbu, has revealed that more than two months of continuous night shooting for director Vetrimaran's highly anticipated Tamil action film 'Arasan' has taken a toll on his body clock. The actor shared the update in a candid post on his Instagram Stories on 5 June, drawing widespread attention from fans.

In his own words, Simbu wrote: 'More than 2 + months of continuous night shoots. My circadian rhythm is officially confused.' The light-hearted remark, while humorous in tone, underscores the intensity of the ongoing production schedule, which has been running largely through the night in Chennai.

Arasan Shoot: The Long Road to This Schedule

Simbu had resumed shooting for 'Arasan' in April 2025 after a prolonged disruption. Production had earlier come to a halt following a well-publicised standoff between the actor and prominent Tamil film producer Ishari K Ganesh over an advance paid for a project that never materialised. Once that dispute was resolved and the shoot restarted, sources indicated the Chennai schedule would be a lengthy one. Actors Yogi Babu and Priyanka Arul Mohan were also expected to participate in this leg of filming. The film's first schedule, held at Kovilpatti, had wrapped on 21 December last year.

Why 'Arasan' Has Generated Massive Buzz

'Arasan' is among the most eagerly awaited Tamil productions for several reasons. It marks the first-ever collaboration between Simbu and acclaimed director Vetrimaran, whose previous works — including the celebrated 'Vada Chennai' universe — have set a high benchmark for Tamil cinema. The film is bankrolled by top producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, adding further credibility to the project. Excitement reached another level when the makers confirmed that actor Vijay Sethupathi had joined the cast. The promo then shifts to a courtroom scene where Simbu's character, charged with three murders in a single night, pleads innocence — even as the visuals tell a different story. The promo strongly suggests 'Arasan' will be an untold chapter from the world of 'Vada Chennai', with the title itself announced only recently.
