Mumbai, July 3 (NationPress) Singer and composer Rochak Kohli, renowned for his hit song, 'Pani Da Rang,' asserts that artificial intelligence serves as a robust tool for musicians, enhancing their creativity rather than posing a threat.
In a candid interview with IANS, Kohli expressed his views on the transformative role of AI in the music industry. He mentioned how he frequently employs AI to generate fresh musical concepts, experiment with new instruments, and keep abreast of global trends. Kohli even revealed that he produces videos using AI for his independent channel, viewing it as an advantageous resource rather than a source of concern.
“I regard AI as a tool—neither more nor less. I utilize it extensively. Whether for musical inspiration, discovering new instruments, or understanding global trends, it proves invaluable. I've created videos using AI for my independent channel. I believe AI is empowering musicians, not threatening them,” he said.
When discussing the rising trend of remixes in the current music landscape, Kohli shared, “Original compositions provide genuine satisfaction. When there's a demand for a remix, we meticulously evaluate the song and its purpose to ensure it adds value. Today, listeners are less accepting of remixes compared to a decade ago, which I view as a positive change—original music is finally receiving the recognition it deserves.”
Regarding his upcoming album, “Aap Jaisa Koi,” Rochak mentioned, “I've composed two tracks for this album—'Jab Tu Sajan' and 'Dhuaan Dhuaan,' the latter being an intense piece. The arrangement of songs was intentional. We incorporated a segment of 'Jab Tu Sajan' as a transition into 'Dhuaan Dhuaan' to maintain an emotional continuity for the audience.”
Rochak Kohli added, “After a significant period, I had the chance to engage in a project where music was central. Our first track, 'Jab Tu Sajan,' was filmed in a uniquely creative manner. It felt fulfilling to see music regain its rightful prominence.”
