Chennai, Oct 21 (NationPress) The team behind director Sudha Kongara's much-anticipated historical film, ‘Parasakthi’, starring actor Sivakarthikeyan in a pivotal role, has officially confirmed that the production has been completed.
Dawn Pictures, the film's production company, shared on its X timeline, "The Journey Towards Our Final Destination Begins. Parasakthi Deepavali Nalvazhthukkal! (Deepavali greetings from Parasakthi) That’s a Wrap for #Parasakthi. #ParasakthiFromPongal #ParasakthiFromJan14."
While earlier reports suggested that the film was finished, the official announcement has only just come from the filmmakers.
Last month, Dawn Pictures unveiled a captivating video showcasing some remarkable visuals from the period film, indicating that it would be released during Pongal next year. The post read, "Parasak(thi) Paravattum. (Let the fire spread!) A breathtaking journey through history awaits! #Parasakthi in cinemas from January 14, 2026. #ParasakthiFromPongal #ParasakthiFromJan14."
In August, it was declared that the team had successfully concluded the Pollachi schedule.
Insiders indicate that crucial scenes were filmed during this schedule, which commenced on July 18, though Sivakarthikeyan joined the crew a bit later.
It’s worth noting that the first schedule of ‘Parasakthi’ was shot in Madurai, followed by the second schedule in Sri Lanka, and the third in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu.
A significant buzz surrounds ‘Parasakthi’, which also stars Atharvaa and Sreeleela, and is believed to take place during the 1960s in the erstwhile state of Madras.
A teaser released by the team reveals that the plot unfolds at Pachaiyappa’s college in Madras, where Sivakarthikeyan's character is seen going from door to door, searching for something. He appears as a courageous leader, aiming to mobilize students for a protest against an oppressive system that has imposed rules like ‘Students - do not touch’. Interestingly, the teaser shows this order altered to ‘Do not touch students’.
The teaser also hints that Ravi Mohan’s character is determined to eliminate Sivakarthikeyan’s character.
'Parasakthi', initially referred to as #SK25, marking it as Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film, features music by G V Prakash and cinematography by the seasoned Ravi K Chandran. The film's action sequences are choreographed by Supreme Sundar.
