She shared her admiration for the “magical” creations of National Award-winning designer Gaurang Shah, which she will don in the show.
“Gaurang Shah doesn’t merely design sarees; he weaves narratives, traditions, and modernity into each thread. For Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, his artistry encapsulated the essence of Indian craftsmanship through the skill of our weavers,” noted Smriti.
For the eagerly anticipated promo of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, Shah created a stunning chiffon Kanjeevaram for Smriti.
The actress-politician expressed: “A timeless blend of heritage and contemporary aesthetics, his designs are genuinely enchanting on fabric.”
Drawing inspiration from India's rich craft traditions, the wardrobe collection for Tulsi Virani includes airy chiffon Kanjeevarams, vibrant hand-dyed silk Bandhanis, intricate ikkats, and exquisite Jamdani weaves, where each motif holds significance.
“Creating for Smriti Irani has been a true joy; through Tulsi, she has become a symbol of strength, elegance, and an icon for countless Indian women. Tulsi embodies every woman who adheres to her principles while adapting to the present,” commented Shah.
He emphasized his aim to honor that quiet strength through his creations.
“These weaves are not just garments; they carry stories, just like she does,” he remarked.
Gaurang further added: “We continue to weave for the future, with each piece evolving as the narrative unfolds.”
