Sohum Shah reveals rapid progress on ‘Tumbbad 2’

Mumbai, Dec 24 (NationPress) Actor and producer Sohum Shah, renowned for his work in Tumbbad, Dahaad, and Maharani, has revealed that the production of the sequel to Tumbbad is progressing rapidly.
Recently, Sohum took to Instagram to post a series of images of himself engrossed in the script of Tumbbad 2, where he can be seen jotting down notes.
In the caption, he mentioned, "Ha, Tumbbad pe hi kaam kar raha hun," igniting excitement among admirers of the 2018 film.
In his shared post, Shah is depicted amidst numerous notes and drafts, suggesting that the screenplay is already in the works. While no official release date has been announced, this news serves as a promising indication that Tumbbad 2 is indeed in development.
The original Tumbbad, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, is a critically acclaimed horror-fantasy film celebrated for its distinctive storytelling, captivating visuals, and its deep dive into themes of greed and mythology. The film has garnered a dedicated fanbase, leaving many eagerly anticipating a sequel, which is one of the most awaited projects in recent years.
Sohum played a pivotal role in the creation of Tumbbad, both as an actor and a producer. He has teased that the sequel will expand on the intricate universe established in the first film, delving further into its enigmatic folklore.
The narrative is set in 1918 India and follows Vinayak Rao's relentless search for a concealed treasure in the village of Tumbbad. The plot weaves together elements of folklore, mythology, and horror as Vinayak confronts the dark secrets associated with an ancient goddess and her cursed legacy.
In addition, Sohum has another project titled Crazxy in the works. This film, produced under the banner of Sohum Shah Films, is scheduled for release on March 7, 2025. The motion poster for the film has already generated excitement, and fans are eagerly looking forward to the next chapter in Sohum’s cinematic journey.
