Mumbai, Aug 6 (NationPress) Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre has shared her insights regarding the significant changes in relationships and societal norms due to the internet.
Reflecting on the digital age, she emphasized that generational transformations are now occurring at an unprecedented speed, altering the way individuals connect and communicate. In an interview with IANS, Sonali Bendre discussed the swift evolution she has observed in relationships since the internet's emergence. The star of 'Hum Saath - Saath Hain' noted that what used to take decades for a generational shift now unfolds within a few years, fundamentally changing how people live and relate to one another.
She remarked, “The change is enormous! In our era, a generation would evolve every 20–25 years. Now, it feels like it shifts every three years. Everything has been turned upside down. The internet has revolutionized how we live and connect.”
Having a marriage that has endured challenges, Sonali expressed her thoughts on the younger generation's rapid approach to love, marriage, and divorce. She mentioned that offering advice to today’s youth often seems futile, as they believe they have all the answers. “I don’t think anyone can genuinely advise youngsters, and those who attempt usually don't succeed (smiles). They think they know it all. They have Google and ChatGPT—every answer is available at their fingertips.”
She continued, “In my opinion, marriage necessitates daily commitment. It should never be taken for granted. Both partners must invest effort into it. Mutual respect is vital. For me, marriage is a partnership of equality—not that we must be equal in all aspects, but our strengths should complement one another. I possess my strong points, and my husband has his. We allocate responsibilities accordingly.”
On the professional front, the 50-year-old actress is currently hosting the reality show “Pati, Patni Aur Panga” alongside comedian Munawar Faruqui.
