Mumbai, May 23 (NationPress) Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre disclosed that she was unaware of her pregnancy while filming the Marathi dance track “Cham Cham Karta” for the 2004 movie “Agga Bai Arrechya”.
During a chat with Farah Khan, who visited her to prepare a delicious Kashmiri Gucchi Pulao, Sonali shared her experience.
Farah reminisced: “Actually Sonali, we have shot a lot of songs together. We have filmed Aankhon mein base ho tum, and then we shot Duplicate, the well-known Marathi song ‘Cham Cham Karta Hai’.”
In response, Sonali remarked: “I didn’t know I was pregnant.”
Farah noted that at that time, Sonali appeared quite radiant, resembling a “filmy heroine.”
Sonali humorously replied: “She (Farah) is saying you married a Punjabi… you are enjoying food from Goldie's house… And then I found out I was pregnant. I just didn't know.”
“She performed the entire dance while pregnant,” Farah added.
The actress tied the knot with filmmaker Goldie Behl in November 2002 in Mumbai and they welcomed a son in 2005.
Sonali mentioned how working with Farah has always been a breeze.
“There was no stress like with Saroji. I knew she would scold me. Farah may look like she will scold, but within 2 minutes you realize it's all in good fun… It's all love, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely,” Sonali expressed.
“Aga Bai Arrechha!” is a Marathi comedy drama directed by Kedar Shinde, inspired by the Hollywood film What Women Want. The film explores the lives and challenges faced by an ordinary man in a bustling city like Mumbai. A sequel, Aga Bai Arechyaa 2, was released but did not perform well at the box office.
Sonali began her career as a model and made her acting debut with Aag in 1994. After a series of box office disappointments, she rose to fame with the romantic action film Diljale in 1996.
Her subsequent successes included leading roles in Duplicate, Major Saab, Zakhm, Sarfarosh, Kadhalar Dhinam, and Hum Saath Saath Hain.
In the next decade, her role in the romantic drama Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai garnered her significant acclaim. She also ventured into Telugu cinema with hits like Murari, Indra, Manmadhudu, and Shankar Dada M.B.B.S.
