Mumbai, Dec 17 (NationPress) Actress Sonali Bendre took to social media on Wednesday to celebrate the 26th anniversary of her film “Dahek”, reminiscing about her experiences during the film's production.

Reflecting on this significant milestone, she expressed her gratitude for the film and her collaboration with co-star Akshaye Khanna. Sonali noted that although time has elapsed, the feelings associated with the film remain as vibrant and unchanged as ever. On her Instagram account, she shared a nostalgic video clip of the song “Sawan Barse Tarse Dil” from the movie. This beloved track, performed by Hariharan, features charming and romantic scenes between her and Akshaye.

In her post, the “Diljale” star wrote, “26 years later, and the emotions remain unchanged. A timeless track from #Dahek, beautifully sung by @singerhariharana & @sadhanasargamofficial #26YearsOfDahek #SawanBarseTarseDil.”

Launched in 1999, “Dahek: A Burning Passion” is a romantic drama directed by Lateef Binni, showcasing the story of an interfaith marriage that ignites religious conflicts between Hindu and Muslim communities. The film also features Danny Dengzongpa, Dalip Tahil, Himani Shivpuri, and Sharad Kapoor.

Sonali Bendre commenced her career as a model before transitioning into acting with her debut in “Aag”. She gained significant fame by portraying female leads in various successful films across genres, including action, romance, and drama, in both Hindi and Tamil cinema. Her notable performances include films such as “Duplicate”, “Major Saab”, “Zakhm”, “Sarfarosh”, “Kadhalar Dhinam”, and the renowned family drama “Hum Saath Saath Hain.”

In recent years, Bendre has made a comeback as a judge on popular reality shows like “India’s Got Talent” and “India’s Best Dramebaaz.” She has also appeared on television series such as “Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye” and “The Broken News.”

Her latest appearance was in the 2022 film “Love You Hamesha”, directed by Kailash Surendranath, where she shared the screen with Akshaye Khanna.
