Mumbai, May 23 (NationPress) Sonali Bendre revealed that during her filming of the 1994 movie Naraaz, her husband Goldie Behl would seek out spots where the actress would settle down to read.
In a discussion with Farah Khan, who visited her home to prepare a delicious Kashmiri Gucchi Pulao, Sonali reminisced about her relationship with Goldie.
Farah inquired, “How did you first meet Goldie? Was it on a movie set?”
“On the set of Naraaz, Goldie was always around during lunchtime, and I would often find him lurking wherever I chose to read. He would come and sit next to me,” Sonali shared. Farah responded, “Clearly, he was trying to win you over.”
Sonali continued, revealing that after two or three actresses declined roles in the 1998 film Angaaray, she accepted the offer from director Mahesh Bhatt.
Farah joked, “Did he marry you out of gratitude? You must have saved him! He’s still captivated by you, you look just as stunning as you did in Hum Saath Saath Hain.”
Angaaray features Akshay Kumar, Nagarjuna, and Pooja Bhatt, and is loosely based on the American film State of Grace. Mahesh Bhatt revisited this theme in his 2003 production Footpath. The film was also dubbed and released in Telugu as Rowdy in 2003.
In 2018, the actress disclosed that she was diagnosed with metastatic cancer and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in New York City. Remarkably, she became cancer-free in 2021.
Sonali opened up about her health journey with Farah.
“We often think we’re too busy to focus on our health. Even if I felt something was wrong and visited the doctor with my symptoms, I didn’t realize the urgency. What I learned through this experience is that early detection can save lives,” she emphasized.
“It’s crucial to have regular scans and tests for early detection,” she advised.
